Typical Inverter system VS Solar energy
In this post, we will discuss few things about inverter and solar energy how both of them work hand in hand to produce usable energy and how a typical inverter can work without solar panels.
There are differences between a typical inverter system and solar power system, though both of them can work together to provide the needed energy but in other words a typical inverter system without the help of solar energy and if you are not sure of how possible it can then keep reading.
What is Inverter
To better understand me we need to know what inverter is all about, an inverter can be defined as an electronic device or circuitry that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).
An inverter also handles the input voltage, output voltage and frequency, and overall power handling depending on how the particular device is designed to work.
What is Solar Energy
I once defined solar energy here as the most reliable form of renewable energy available and can be defined as a radiant light and heat from the Sun that is harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, solar architecture etc.
Difference between Typical Inverter and Solar energy
When I say typical Inverter I simply meant an inverter that has nothing to do with solar energy and the major difference between them is a solar panel.
Solar energy needs a solar panel that can draw energy from sunlight and heat to be able to work while power inverters can draw energy from various power source.
Need to know more about Solar energy and how it works read what is solar energy and how does it work.
The solar energy power system cannot work without the help of Dc to Ac inverter that changes direct current to alternating current but a typical inverter power system can work without drawing energy from the sun but from other power sources.
Example of a typical inverter power system
The image above includes 2 deep cycle battery, wires and 2.4kva Mercury Dc to Ac power inverter which is what you need to build a typical inverter system that can power up your house and other electrical appliances.
The only thing missing here is the solar panel which shows you that this is an inverter system and not a solar system but there is one major question here.
How does a typical inverter generate energy
Since we excluded solar panel that helps the solar system to generate energy from the sun, the question is how can an inverter generate energy without the solar panel.
An inverter works as a rechargeable power system with the help of deep cycle solar/inverter batteries which means you can connect an inverter to your main power source,e or big generators.
The good news is that a typical inverter can be connected to the solar panel and at the same time to your main power source which means that you can charge the inverter with the solar panel when there are power outages and as well charge it with generators or other power sources.
The advantage of a typical inverter and solar energy
Whether a typical inverter or solar energy both of them are regarded and seen as an alternative power solution that will always be there when other power sources failed.
How a typical inverter system works
I will make it simple for you to understand.
The inverter draws energy form various power source to charge the batteries that stores the energy for future use and then the inverter handles the voltage and output.
I hope you have learned a few things about solar power system and an inverter power system but if you still have more question, feel free to ask.
