Itel S17 is yet another cheap android smartphone from itel equipped with an ARM Mali T820 MP1 and a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731E processor. It features 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot allows you to increase the capacity by another 128 GB.

It’s very disappointing to see itel release a smartphone with 1GB RAM +16GB ROM in 2021 because, in my opinion, it inferior. However, we all know that price of everything has doubled in Nigeria. I remembered buying Infinix Hot 8 at 38k a year ago, but a smartphone with similar specs will cost you 50 to 60k+ to buy now.

I believe that itel was trying to keep the price low as always, which made them settle for a 1GB Ram phone, and it’s evident that the phone doesn’t support a 4G LTE network.

I am sure that itel S17 Pro will soon be released with significant memory because the 1GB RAM is not okay for many users, especially those who like to play HD games on their phone. Multitasking on this phone will as well not be smoother than it should

Let’s admit that not everyone needs a smartphone with big RAM or storage memory, so the phone is not that bad if you are not a heavy user. It might be perfect for your younger brothers, Sisters, or parents.

As I said earlier, itel S17 has low memory, but it’s very disappointing for itel to release a good-looking smartphone with 1GB RAM + 16GB ROM. However, that doesn’t mean that the phone is overall bad, but if you are a heavy user, you better go for other smartphones with more advanced features.

The 16GB internal storage memory is not that bad since you can extend the memory up to 128GB using an SD card.

Camera

From the design itel, S17 looked like the new Tecno Camon 18 with great triple rear cameras. Still, the camera’s design and position don’t contribute much to the actual capacity of the camera.

However, the new itel S17 doesn’t come with the best camera but is good enough for the price. It has a triple 8MP rear camera with a front smile selfie camera.

Battery capacity

The main selling point for itel S17 is the big 5000 mAh battery. I don’t see any reason to complain when it comes to the battery. With a 5000 mAh battery, you will surely stay connected all the long with a single charge. If all you want is a smartphone with a strong battery, itel S17 will not be wrong.
