Tecno Camon 18 specs & Price in Nigeria

Tecno mobile has recently released another great phone in their Camon series (Tecno Camon 18) with unique features. Let’s not forget that a few months ago, Tecno released Camon 17  but immediately moved to the next level as we welcomed the new Camon 18 a few weeks ago with even more awesome features.

The new Camon 18 features a 6.8″Dot-in 90Hz FHD+ Display, 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM, 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and runs with HiOS based on Android™ 11 operating system followed by 48MP AI triple rear camera + 16MP front camera. Undoubtedly, Camon 18 comes with unique features that you can resist.

However, Tecno Camon 18 comes in 3 variants as usual. Just like Camon 17, we have normal Camon 18, Camon 18P, and Camon 18 Premier.

I will not be reviewing both variants here but will review them separately to help you understand the features each holds perfectly. Though, we are going to see how Camon 18 differs from other variants in due time.

Tecno Camon 18 Price in Nigeria

This phone is presently available in most of the plazas and as well online. Since the features are not that different from the Camon 17, it will be within the same price range of N70,000 – N80,000

How is Tecno Camon 18 compared to Camon 18P and Camon 18 Premier?

Now, we will take a closer look at the features of Camon 18 and what differentiates it from other variants,s and as well the similarities.

Firstly, I can tell you that among the three variants of the phone, the best is Tecno Camon 18 Premier followed by Camon 18P before normal Camon 18, but they both offer great value for money. You don’t have to go for 18 Premier if you can’t afford it or if you don’t need it. All the same, let me show you what you want to know.

Display & Design

Camon 18 offers 6.8 inches FHD+ Dot-in display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Camon 18P has a similar display size of 6.8 inches FHD+ display but a 120Hz display refresh rate. At the same time, the Camon 18 Premier offers even better display quality as it comes with a 6.7-inch Dot-in FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Both phones look great, but when it comes to the display quality, Camon 18 Premier is better. An AMOLED display makes the difference. Camon 18 and Camon 18P comes in 3 colors (Dust Gray, Ceramic White, and Iris Purple), while Camon 18 Premier comes in 2 colors (Polar Night and Vast Sky)

Both variants featured a Dot-in display which gives room for the selfie camera aligned at the top center of the phones. We have triple rear cameras aligned vertically at the top left corner of the phone at the back, along with a quad-LED flash.

Operating System & Processor

Tecno Camon 18 runs on HiOS based on Android™ 11 operating system accompanied with Helio G88 extreme performance processor. However, Camon 18P and the Premier variant offer an even faster Helio G96 gaming processor.

I am using Tecno Camon 17 Pro with an Helio G95 processor, and I can tell you that my experience with the phone is incredible. Expect nothing but the best performance and stability from this smartphone.

Memory size

When it comes to memory size, Tecno Camon 18 Premier is the best with 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM followed by Camon 18P with 6/8GB RAM + 128GB ROM while Camon 18 has 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM.

This phone comes with enough processing and internal storage memory. Whether it’s a normal Camon 18 or the Premier, you are good to go.

Camera

Tecno Camon 18 has an optimized 48MP Al Ultra Triple rear camera + 16MP front camera with dual flash. On the other hand, Camon 18P offers the same 48MP triple rear camera that features 50mm Pro portrait mode + 16MP front camera.

The game-changer is the Tecno Camon 18 Premier with 64MP Pro Portrait camera with 60X Hyper Zoom seminar to what appeared on Infinix Zero X Pro.

Battery

Tecno Camon 18 and Camon 18P come with the same/5000 mAh battery capacity. At the same time, the Camon 18 Premier has a 4750 battery which is a bit lesser than the 5000 mAh other variants offer. However, Camon 18P and 18 Premier are considered the best option as they both have 33W fast charging features while the normal Camon 18has 18W fast charging.

The fast charging feature is essential because it helps the phone charge faster than a regular smartphone. A 10 minutes charge is enough for a 10 hours call. None of the phones has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor but supports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. 

Tecno Camon 18 VS Tecno Camon 17

Well, I don’t see why someone with Camon 17 should go for the Camon 18. The release of the Camon 18 can’t be said to be an upgrade because they offer similar features.

However, few things differentiate them. The display size of Camon 18 is 6.8, while Camon 17 comes with 6.6 inches. It clearly shows that Camon 18 is a bit bigger than its predecessor.

Both phones run Android 11 OS, but Camon 18 offers a slightly better Helio G88 gaming processor than the G85 that Camon 17 offers.

Looking at the camera, you can see that Camon 18 has a Triple rear camera while Camon 17 offers a Quad rear camera, but that doesn’t mean that Camon 17 can do a better job than Camon 18. Other features remain the same, the memory size, battery, front camera display refresh rate, and more.
