Infinix has officially announced the release of its new flagship (Infinix Hot 12 Series) with unique features and functionalities. However, the new Infinix Hot 12 comes in 3 variants, as you can see below.
- Infinix Hot 12, Model (X6817)
- Infinix Hot 12 Play, model (X6817)
- Infinix Hot 12i, model (X665B)
In this review, I will ensure that you get all the info you need about the Infinix Hot 12 series, their prices, specifications, and comparisons. We will compare the three phones to know what each of them offers and probably to know the best one we can go for when the budget is not an issue.
Before discussing the features, I like to point out some of the exciting and new features the Infinix Hot 12 offers.
What’s new (Infinix Hot 12 Series)
Below are some of the features that I like about this phone that you might not have on your current phone
Android 12 operating system
The only Infinix phones that support the latest Android 12 operating system are new ones. Sometimes I felt sad because even the Tecno Camon 17 Pro, with all the fantastic features, still doesn’t support Android 12 OS.
With the Infinix Hot 12, you will have a taste of what the new Android 12 OS offers. However, the new Hot 12 comes with an upgraded Infinix XOS 10.6 that enables you to embrace a unique, innovative style.
Memory Fusion
Memory Fusion is a function that allows you to extend your device’s RAM (Random Access Memory), which is responsible for your smartphone’s capacity to multitask, i.e., run numerous apps smoothly at the same time, and swiftly recover frequently visited data and programs.
For example, Infinix Hot 12 has 6GB RAM, but with the memory fusion features, you can extend the random access memory up to 11GB by mapping out 5GB from your built-in storage memory to support the RAM.
The combination of RAM and ROM allows for a massive 11 GB of extended RAM. It will significantly enhance your device’s speed and performance in various settings.
Infinix Hot 12 Series Review (Comparison)
I have pointed out the key unique features of the new Hot 12 smartphone. Still, it’s time for us to look at their general characteristics and compare the three variants ( Infinix Hot 12, Infinix Hot 12 Play, and Infinix Hot 12i) to know what they offer.
Display & Design
Infinix Hot 12 series comes with attractive designs along with unique features. However, the Hot 12 and Hot 12 Play offers bigger 6.82 inches display with Rapid Refresh Rate Display, while the Hot 12i offers 6.6 inches IPS Premium Super Bright Display.
The new Infinix Hot 12 series has a flat-edge design that makes the phone comfortable and holdable in your hands. If you like it big, consider going for either Infinix Hot 12 or Infinix Hot 12 Play with 6.82 inches, but if you are not a fan of big phones, consider going for the Infinix Hot 12i with 6.6 inches display.

Operating System (OS) & Processor (CPU)
Infinix Hot 12 and Hot 12 play variants are built on the Android 12 operating system. In contrast, the Hot 12i comes with Android 11, which makes the Hot 12 and the Play variants more preferable for the latest operating system. However, both the Android 11 and 12 are still one of the latest Android Os you will love to try.
Infinix Hot 12 series also comes with the newest Infinix XOS 10.6, which allows you to embrace a unique, innovative style.
Looking at the processor, the Hot 12 and 12 Play are equipped with an Helio G85 gaming processor designed to give game lovers the power they need to enjoy what they love most. If you like to play games with your phone, ensure that you go for Hot 12 or Hot 12 Play.
Memory Size (RAM & ROM)
Infinix has upgraded from their regular 2/3GB Ram phone to something better, and this time, you will even have more with the new Infinix Hot 12 smartphones. Shower, the Hot 12 and 12 Play is still better with 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage memory, while Hot 12i offers 4GB RAM + 64GB internal memory.
But let’s not forget about the memory fusion features that Infinix integrated into these phones. With memory fusion features, you can cut out some memory from your storage memory to support the RAM, giving the phone more power to do more without paying more. Infinix users will be pleased with the memory size of these phones because there isn’t anything to complain about.

Infinix Hot 12 Camera
Infinix Hot 12 camera is not sure the best in my opinion but not bad, and it has some cool features that can give you colorful images and videos. However, I don’t see much difference between the Hot 12, Hot 12 Play, and Hot 12i because they both came with an 8MP front camera and a triple 13MP camera setup. Though, Infinix Hot 12 comes to have more camera sensors than other variants, as spotted in the image.
The table shows what each variant offers and if you want to choose the best, consider Infinix Hot 12, but I don’t see any significant difference. The camera setup of these phones remains 8MP front, 13 AF + 2MP + AI Lens triple rear camera. Interestingly both phones have dual rear flash and dual front flash to help you take brighter images and videos even in a dark environment.
Infinix Hot 12 Battery Capacity
Infinix has never failed in terms of long-lasting batteries on their phones compared to even the most high-end smartphones that cost a lot more. However, Infinix smartphone users have become familiar with their regular 5000 mAh battery. Still, one unique thing about all these newest models of Infinix phones is that they come with advanced battery management that ensures that the battery last longer.
If the battery is one of the things you consider most when buying a smartphone, I recommend you go for Infinix Hot 12 Play with 6000 mAh instead of the 5000 mAh that the Hot 12 and Hot 12i offer. Without any doubt, Infinix Hot 12 Play is the king for the battery. Lastly, the Hot 12 series support 18W fast charging which ensures that the phone charges faster. Also thanks to Infinix for adopting the latest Type-C charging port that is efficient and durable.
Infinix Hot 12 Price
Infinix Hot 12 will soon be available for purchase in Nigeria and as well as other countries. However, there is no fixed price for Infinix Hot 12 series smartphones but checking other smartphones in this category I can say that the price will be as follows
Infinix Hot 12 = Between N80,000 – N125,000
Infinix Hot 12 Play Between N75,000 – N96,000
Infinix Hot 12i, between N68,000 – N85,000
